Helping turn your house, into your home

Meet Your Inspector

My name is Phillip McClain. I got into the home inspection industry after buying my first house. I had a less than perfect inspector who missed an entire subfloor of mold, which caused my family to begin to develop health issues, with my infant son being the worst.

This caused me to realize the importance that Home Inspectors can have on families, and I wanted to ensure that this did not happen to anyone else. Already being familiar with home construction due to my job as a Fire Fighter in the United States Air Force, I dove head first into the industry, learning everything I could. I now run From House To Home Inspections, and take pride in my thorough, but not nitpicky, inspections. I love taking the time to explain the homes defects, and explain how easy or hard they are to fix.

What Services We Offer

Buyers Inspections

Buying a home is one of the biggest investments you will ever make. Before you buy, you should have a home inspection to avoid potentially costly repairs that would otherwise go undetected until they become even more costly. This is our typical home inspection that catches common defects so you understand the investment you’re making.

Pre-Listing Inspections

Some homeowners want to make repairs to their house before they put it on the market and will make repairs using their inspection report as a baseline reference. Please understand that most buyers will still want to perform their own inspection even if the seller has already had an inspection done.

Four-Point Inspections

A 4-Point Inspection is a basic evaluation of four critical areas of a home—the HVAC systems, the roofing system, the electrical system, and the plumbing system. This inspection is often required by insurers before they’re willing to issue or renew a policy on an older home.

Wind Mitigation Inspections

Wind mitigation inspections are designed to identify potential problems before they become major issues. They involve checking the integrity of roof structures and other building components, such as windows, doors, walls, and skylights. The goal is to prevent damage caused by high winds.

Air Quality Inspections

Studies have shown that smoke, funga spores, and chemicals used by most man-made products such as certain paints, varnish, and cleaners are harmful to humans. Find out what you'll be breathing with an IAq test.

Pool/Spa Inspections

We'll inspect your pool thoroughly–from filters and pumps to plumbing and heaters–to identify any issues and provide appropriate recommendations.

Awesome job! Phillip responded immediately to our inspection request and was on site within 2 days. He provided us with a full inspection that documented EVERYTHING about the house (good features, and bad), a 4-point and wind-mitigation inspections for insurance, and even a septic tank inspection. We would definitely recommend him, and use him again on our next sale in Ocala.

A home inspection is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a house, from the roof to the foundation. Home inspections are designed to protect the buyer, by revealing problems they might not have noticed otherwise.

Our home inspections start at $375. The cost will vary based on the square footage of the home, the age of the home, and location of the home. Call, text, or email us for a quote today!

Home inspections generally take 2 to 4 hours to complete. The duration of a home inspection depends on many factors such as the size of the home, the condition of the home, and the ability to access certain areas of the home (roof, crawl space, attic, etc.).

Although it is not necessary, we do recommend that you attend the inspection so you can ask questions and learn more about the home. You will learn a lot from the inspection report, but we always encourage you to attend!
It is important to note that no house is perfect. At the end of the home inspection process, we will provide a detailed report that describes the physical condition of the property, with images and videos highlighting what may need repair or replacement. The information provided is to allow a potential buyer to make an informed decision about moving forward with the transaction. It is not pass or fail.
