I am Phillip McClain, an InterNACHI Certified Master Inspector, Certified Mold Assessor and Remediator. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force, where I first encountered building science as a whole. It is important to identify building materials during a fire because you need to know what may fall on your head. It was here that I found my love of building science and practices as a whole. During this time, something else occurred; to put it simply, I myself was the victim of a bad home inspector. This opened my eyes to the importance of a thorough home inspection, as I myself did not have a good one. A good home inspector is paramount to making an informed decision when buying a house, my personal experience with home inspections remains memorable. If my inspector had done what he was hired to do and taken the time to properly inspect the house I was buying, he would have found the massive amounts of mold in my crawlspace and the leak in my attic.
Now, I run my business with one principle in mind: integrity. I will always do what is right, I will always ensure I have adequate time to inspect each and every house on my schedule. I will always take the time to answer every question my clients have, and report everything as honestly and accurately as possible. Simply, I do not care if the inspection takes me 2 hours or 8 hours, I will always do what is right. My goal is for none of my customers to feel the frustration and disappointment of a bad inspection.
